If you don’t come to the show, Paul will know. PAUL. WILL. KNOW.
HOLIDAY HADGETUNE #8: “A MERRY CHRISTMASTIME FOR ALL (EXCEPT THE POOR)”
Ever wonder why poor kids always get less fron Santa?
Santa’s clearly a Romney-Conservative, everybody. I’ll let the rest just sit here. I’m still surprised they wanted to do this one, but in Dec.2012, all these references were hot and crispy. This is the first time anyone who wasn’t there that night is seeing this one. It’s also the only time I’ve ever taken a lead vocal on a Rescignos song, too. Yeah, it ruined Christmas.
Featuring Robbie Rescigno, Paul Rescigno, Tricia Rescigno, Phil Gosselin, Jenny Dunne, Rebecca Weiner, Jason Shelton, and Peter Dagger.
HOLIDAY HADGETUNE #6: “ANGRY LETTERS TO SANTA”
Week 2 of Holiday HadgeTunes begins with a modern holiday standard. No doubt you’ve heard this one in line at the Shop-O-Mart. (If I was behind you…singing it.) Nothing warms the heart more than innocent children’s letters to Santa - these aren’t those. Some lovely three-part harmony happening in this one. Let it light the Christmas spirit candle in your soul area.
Featuring Paul Rescigno, Phil Gosselin, Rebecca Weiner, Robbie Rescigno, Mary Falkenstern, Stephen James Anthony. and Peter Dagger.
HOLIDAY HADGETUNE #4: “(HANUKKAH IS) CHRISTMAS TIMES EIGHT”
Just in time for the Hanukkah season to begin (end?), here’s my first attempt at writing a Hanukkah song. You know, to appease the festive rabbis. Unfortunately (fortunately?) my knowledge on the subject was limited, and I ain’t into “learning,” so it’s basically just a Christmas song. Regardless, Rebecca Weiner sings it real nice.
Featuring jolly-ass backup from Robbie Rescigno, Paul Rescigno, Phil Gosselin, Mary Falkenstern, Stephen James Anthony, and Peter Dagger. Good times.
Have A. Murray Christmas!
HOLIDAY HADGETUNE #3: “I BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUS”
It’s amazing that kids still fall for the Santa thing - so much evidence of the truth is just staring them in the face. Here’s a song that I would one day like to be sung by a choir of sweet, dumb children. Lot of Rock Band and Guitar Hero references in these 2009 songs that I didn’t realize…
HOLIDAY HADGETUNE #2: “SNOWED IN”
This one was a reverse-“Baby Its Cold Outside” originally called “Date Rape Duet.” Its supposed to be WAY creepier than it was, which is why Robbie Rescigno and Rebecca Weiner wore the nerd glasses and made it less threatening. Sigh, oh well - I guess it’s still a LITTLE creepy.
The Aretha Franklin joke at the beginning is by Matt Hoch and not myself.
